Carlos' Rodon's wife Ashley praised the Yankees pitcher for juggling fatherhood and his pro baseball career

The last 18 months have been full of drastic changes for Carlos Rodon and his family. Now that things seem to have regained a degree of normality, the Yankees pitcher's wife, Ashley, took to Instagram to commend her husband's tenacity.

In honor of Father's Day, Ashley took to Instagram to share a heartwarming video of her husband playing with their daughter. In the heartfelt caption, Ashley referred to her husband of six years as "the dad who always shows up for us."

The pair were wed in 2018 at a lavish ceremony in Costa Rica. Since then, the pair have welcomed a daughter and two sons into the world. After struggling to conceive themselves, Carlos and Ashley founded the Carlos Rodon Foundation, which seeks to provide resources to help underprivileged individuals who are struggling with the process themselves.

In late 2022, Rodon inked a six-year, $162 million deal with the Yankees. The left-hander was coming off a 14-win season with the San Francisco Giants that led to a sixth-place finish in NL Cy Young voting. However, his first season pitching in the Bronx did not go as planned.

After missing the first three months of the season with injury, Carlos Rodon was rusty when he finally made his New York Yankees debut in July. In 14 starts last year, the southpaw finished with a career-high 6.85 ERA, and amassed a record of 3-8.

"Carlos Rodon has SHOVED over his last five starts. 5-0 | 2.37 ERA | 26 SO | 0.96 WHIP | 5 QS" - Fireside Yankees

This season, Rodon seems to have settled into his role as a top starter. He has now made a league-high 15 starts, and boasts a 3.28 ERA to compliment his 9-3 record. Moreover, Rodon has 81 strikeouts across 85 innings and boasts a WHIP figure of 1.106.

Ashley offers support to Carlos Rodon through thick and thin

In their six years of marriage, the Rodons have been through some high highs as well as some low lows. However, the support that Ashley provides for her husband is unwavering. Last season, when her husband blew a kiss to heckling Yankees fans during a poor showing against the Los Angeles Angels, Ashley rushed to his defense:

“The days he’s a-- he’ll own it and get ready for the next one, always has."

Now that Carlos is pitching much better, Ashley and the family can put the hard times behind them and relish the masterful performance that is being put forward.
