The Oakland Athletics, also known as the A's, are a professional baseball team based in Oakland, California as of October 2024. They were established in 1901 as one of the original eight charter franchises of the American League. The team initially played in Philadelphia before moving to Kansas City in 1955 and finally settling in Oakland in 1968.
