Brayden Kerry Taylor, born May 22, 2002, in West Jordan, Utah, is an American college baseball third baseman for the TCU Homed Frogs and an upcoming prospect for the 2023’s MLB Draft.
Taylor attended Copper Hills High School in West Jordan, Utah, where he played baseball and earned all-state recognition by batting .443 and stealing ten bases as a junior in 2019. By his senior year, Taylor had been ranked No. 188 in the country by Perfect Games
Brayden was considered eligible in the 2020’s MLB draft but was passed over during the rounds. He then decided to enroll at Texas Christian University (TCU) to play college baseball and build his career starting as a freshman.
In 2021, He made a name for himself quickly as TCU’s third baseman, starting 58 games, out of which 47 games as a third baseman, ten games at second base, and one at shortstop, and has ranked second on the team with a .324 batting average, and an incredible .572 slugging percentage backed by an on-base percentage of .445, and has had the highest team hits (72) including 11 doubles, four triples, and 12 home runs.
In 2022, during his Sophomore, he played 59 games, starting every game as a third baseman and only one as a pinch hitter, and has ranked second on the team with an on-base percentage of .454 and has led the team in tailing 14 doubles, 14 home runs and ranked second on the squad with 50 RBIs.
By 2023, Taylor had started 67 games, 60 as third base and seven at shortstop. With 23 home runs, Taylor tied for the school record and ranked 17th nationally. Taylor has led the team scoring his career-high 70 RBIs on the season, batting an average of .308 with 15 doubles and scoring 77 runs. Taylor has also accumulated many accolades to his name, including the 2023 ABCA 1st-Team All-Central Region, the 2023 NVAA Fayetteville All-Regional Team, the 2023 Big 12 Tournament MVP, the 2023 Big 12 All-Tournament team awards, and more.
