Brian Gerald Snitker is notable for his long term association with the Atlanta Braves as their coach and manager. Hailing from Decatur, Illinois, United States, he began his baseball journey with Macon High School and later with the American Legion Baseball. Snitker also played college baseball at University of New Orleans. Remarkably, Snitker had signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Braves in 1977 and was mainly used in the minor leagues.
After Snitker’s playing career ended, he served as the coach and manager for several minor league teams like the Anderson Braves, Durham Bulls, Macon Braves, Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Greenville Braves, Mississippi Braves, Richmond Braves and Gwinnett Braves. The couple first met at a blind date which was set up by former MLB player Cito Gaston, who was Snitker’s roommate back then. Ronnie Snitker worked as a speech pathologist at an elementary school and was also a vegetarian which was completely different to her future husband’s eating habits. However, the two of them connected and started a romantic relationship. They soon married and have been together for four decades sharing each other's highs and lows. This included her being diagnosed with breast cancer and their successful efforts in overcoming it and the constant travel throughout the country due to Snitker' professional requirements.
