During the 2022 season, millions of fans bought subscriptions to MLB.TV. According to the official streaming service of Major League Baseball, an increasing number of students are interested in the service.
For a price of just $24.99 per month, fans can catch every out-of-market game around the league through the streaming service. Understandably, that makes for an incredibly attractive scheme for hardcore fans.
Subscribers to MLB.TV will be able to stream the action on their phones, tablets, computers and all other connected devices. It should not be confused with MLB Extra Innings, though, which is a cable feature allowing the presentation of out-of-market action on televisions everywhere.
"MLB.TV is back for the 2023 season, the $149.99 price now includes more than 7K Minor League games and every team now has a “Watch Hub” that will feature programming and video on demand from your favorite team." - Boston Strong
The service is also available as an add-on on fuboTV, a streaming service that has gained considerable popularity among fans. Subscribers to SlingTV as well as DirecTV will be able to access MLB TV as part of their existing subscription.
Fans who took in the 2022 action through YouTube TV, however, were not so lucky. YouTube TV failed to reach an agreement with the MLB Network, and thus will not be showing any games as of March 30.
Students are an ever-present demographic of sports fans. With some subscription-based services offering discounts to those in the midst of working toward scholarly achievement, students are wondering if MLB.TV offers similar perks.
The good news is that students can receive a 35% discount on the MLB's official streaming service. To cash in on the offer, students are required to navigate to the "Shop Now" page on the service's website. Once their Student ID has been verified, students are liable to save a boatload of cash with this special discount.
