Casey Cook is an American outfielder who wrapped up his redshirt sophomore season with the North Carolina Tar Heels. He began his high school baseball career at the Freedom High School where he was a two-way player and played as both shortstop and pitcher. Cook was named as the First Team All-Region 5C in 2019 and 2021. He was ranked the third-best prospect in the state of Virginia following the conclusion of his prep career.

Cook started his collegiate baseball journey with the North Carolina and had a disastrous start to his Tar Heels career. In his freshman campaign, he played in only four games and collected his first RBI before ending the campaign with a season-ending shoulder injury. In 2023, Cook returned to the base safely in 44 consecutive games. Last year as a redshirt freshman, Cook had the third-best batting average (.393). He slashed in .317/.428/.415 with 71 hits, 11 doubles, three homers and 23 RBIs. The Chantilly native emerged as one of the best hitters in 2024 and started all 64 games in his sophomore year. Cook posted a slash line of 341/.431/.605 and led the team in hits (88) and RBIs (78) with 12 doubles and 18 home runs. He concluded the year with the third-most RBIs in the ACC and MLB.com has tabbed him as the Top 200 prospect of the 2024 MLB Draft.
