Born on October 26, 2001, in Evans, Georgia, Chase attended Greenbrier High School where he played baseball. After a successful stint in school, Chase enrolled to play college baseball for the Georgia Southern Eagles before transferring to Tennessee for his sophomore season. He won the Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Year honor that year and entered the 2023 season as the clear top arm in the Draft.

Chase's 6-foot-2 frame enables devastating throws, which sometimes peak at 99mph. His athleticism helps him generate his premium pitches while producing elite swing-and-miss rates with its combination of velocity and carry.
