The Chicago Cubs are a professional baseball team based in Chicago, Illinois, competing in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member of the National League (NL) Central Division. Established in 1876, the Cubs are one of the oldest franchises in MLB history. They have played their home games at Wrigley Field since 1916, a ballpark famous for its ivy-covered outfield walls, manually operated scoreboard, and rooftop seating beyond the stadium’s walls.

The Cubs have won three World Series championships (1907, 1908, and 2016), as of February 2025. Their 2016 title ended a 108-year championship drought, the longest in MLB history, and was highlighted by a Game 7 victory over the Cleveland Indians in extra innings. The team has experienced multiple eras of success, including back-to-back pennants in the early 1900s, dominance in the 1930s, and playoff runs in the 2000s and 2010s. After a long period of struggles known as the "Curse of the Billy Goat", the Cubs rebuilt under Theo Epstein (former president of the Chicago Cubs), winning the 2016 World Series.
