David Michael Bell is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) player and coach turned former manager for the Cincinnati Reds. Having started out as a baseball player, he played at Archbishiop Moeller High School and then committed to play college baseball at the University of Kentucky. However, he was drafted by the Cleveland Indians and he decided to start his professional baseball career. Moving forward, he represented teams like the Cleveland Indians for two tenures, St. Louis Cardinals, Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies, and Milwaukee Brewers from 1995-2006.
Post his playing career, David Bell transitioned into a minor league coach for the Cincinnati Reds. He also coached the Chicago Cubs as their third base coach in 2013 and then the St. Louis Cardinals as their assistant hitting coach and bench coach. He then served as the vice president of player development for the San Francisco Giants. In 2019, took over the reins of the manager for the Cincinnati Reds, a role that he performed till September 2024.
