Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, United States, the Cleveland Guardians belong to the American League (AL) in Major League Baseball (MLB). They are one of the earliest teams in the league, first formed in 1894 as the Grand Rapids Rustlers. Since then, the team has undergone several name changes until settling on the Cleveland Indians name in 2021. They kept the name until 2021 and changed it to Cleveland Guardians in the 2022 season after coming under criticism for stereotyping Native Americans through their team name and logo.
