The Cleveland Guardians, formerly known as the Cleveland Indians, were originally formed in 1894 as the Grand Rapids Rustlers. They then relocated to Cleveland in 1900 and used various names throughout the years until they settled on the name of the Cleveland Indians in 1915. They kept the name till 2021 and rebranded themselves as the Cleveland Guardians after criticism regarding their mascot and logo. The Cleveland Guardians have been a member of the American League (AL) since their early days.
The Cleveland Guardians have established Progressive Field as their home ground for games since 1994. They have also played 124 seasons already since their formation from 1901 to 2024. In all these years, the team has also developed rivalries with the Cincinnati Reds, the Detroit Tigers, and the Chicago White Sox during games. The team also has a lovable mascot called Slider, who is very popular with the team's fans and also continues to entertain them during the games.
