Harry Ralston “Bud” Black is notable for being a two-time MLB World Series winning former player turned coach turned manager of the Colorado Rockies. Post his high school and college baseball career, he started out his MLB career with the Seattle Mariners in 1981 and ended it with the Cleveland Indians in 1995 in his second stint. In between, he represented the Kansas City Royals (1982-88), Cleveland Indians (1988-90), Toronto Blue Jays (1990) and San Francisco Giants (1991-94).
After retiring from his playing career, he served as the pitching coach for the Anaheim Angels/Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from 2000-06. before starting his first managerial stint with the San Diego Padres in 2007 and staying there until 2015. He returend to the Los Angeles Angels for a short tenure as special assistant to general manager Billy Eppler. However, his second managerial calling wasn't far away as he landed the role of manager of the Colorado Rockies from 2017 and has been serving as the same to the present day.
