Chicago Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson reached a career milestone against the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. Dansby's wife and soccer star Mallory Swanson celebrated his achievement in an Instagram post.
Dansby Swanson registered his 1000th MLB career hit during a multi-hit game against the White Sox in the series finale. Following his milestone, Mallory Swanson shared a story on her Instagram to celebrate her All-Star husband's MLB career.
"1000 career hits, proud of you always," Mallory wrote in the caption of the story.
The Chicago Cubs fell to a narrow 8-9 loss against the Cleavland Guardians on Sunday despite a late rally that saw Dansby Swanson register a three-run double in the top of the seventh.
Mallory Swanson is coming off a heroic performance for the USWNT in their gold medal game against France at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Mallory scored the only goal of the game to lead the team to their first gold medal since the 2012 Olympics.
Following her gold-medal clinching goal, Dansby Swanson put out a heartfelt message to acknowledge his wife's faith and dedication along with her 100th appearance for the national team.
"God is so good. Always and forever. You are such an inspiration to so many, but more to me than anyone can ever fathom. Your faith in God’s plan, gratitude in life, the grace and joy in which you live and play, the perseverance to fight through whatever obstacles thrown your way.
You are truly a gift from above, and you shine with that every day. I’m speechless. And now you’re a gold medal, Olympic champion, and 100 caps in the same day. And that can never be taken from you. I love you forever."

Mallory Swanson's goal helped the USWNT to their fifth gold medal at the event, the most by any team. She posted a picture of her with the gold medal on Instagram, captioning it:
"My God did not fail! ♥️ thank you to everyone for the support along the way! Still not over this," Mallory wrote while showing her gold medal.
Their dominance can be measured by the fact that no other team has won the event more than once, compared to USA's five triumphs.
