Even one of the best in the game like Aaron Judge has superstitions that he follows daily. Former New York Yankees catcher Kyle Higashioka revealed that the superstar slugger has a fixed notion related to wearing his socks.

When asked on the "Foul Territory" podcast last week about the weirdest superstition he has seen in the big leagues, Higashioka said that during his spell in New York, he noticed Judge repeating the order in which he put on his socks.

"Judge likes to put his left sock on first every day, but then I do that too now," Higashioka said. "Whatever Judge does, I try to do that."

Higashioka said that Judge may have mentioned the ritual in a separate interview. Nevertheless, the outfielder has spoken about his bubble gum ritual, where he chews two gums and has to change them if he doesn't get a hit in his at-bat.

Kyle Higashioka played for the Yankees from 2017 to 2023, managing just a .210 average with 121 RBIs and just 40 home runs. He was traded to the San Diego Padres in December in the bumper trade that saw Juan Soto heading to the Bronx.

Aaron Judge going through minor slump

It seems improbable these days that Aaron Judge can go without hitting a home run over a seven-day stretch. But that has transpired as the Yankees captain has blanked in the HR column since Aug. 25, when he hit two blasts in the series finale against the Colorado Rockies.

In the six games during that spell, Judge has hit 4-for-21 with an average of .190. His season projection for home runs has also dropped below the magic figure of 63, the number required to break his own record. With 25 games left, he is projected to reach 60 homers instead.

As it has been throughout the season, Aaron Judge's bad stretch has coincided with the Bombers losing, as New York is 2-4 since Aug. 26. The Yankees went 1-2 in both three-game series against the Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals.
