American pitcher Dylan Edward Cease was born on December 28, 1995, plays for the Chicago White Sox in Major League Baseball.

The Chicago Cubs selected him in the sixth round of the 2014 MLB drafts. He signed with the Cubs and underwent Tommy John Surgery to repair his UCL. In May 2015, he started throwing again and was a pitcher for the Rookie-level Arizona Cubs. Cease was ranked as the second-best prospect in the Arizona League by Baseball America after the 2015 campaign. The Cubs traded Cease to the Chicago White Sox on July 13, 2017. He was assigned by the White Sox to the Class A South Atlantic League Kannapolis Intimidators. Cease had a 1-10 record, 3.28 ERA, 126 strikeouts, and a 221 batting average in 22 starts split between South Bend and Kannapolis. He made his debut in the Major Leagues with White Sox in 2019.

He went 14–8 in 2022 with 32 starts, 184 innings pitched, and 227 strikeouts. He led the majors in walks allowed (78) and had the highest walk percentage in the majors (10.4%). Cease was named the All-MLB Second Team in 2022 for his amazing performances.
