Yu Chang is a professional baseball player from Chinese Taipei who plays as an infielder for the Cleveland Guardians in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on August 18, 1995, in Taitung, Taiwan.

Chang began playing baseball at a young age and showed great promise as a player. He was signed by the Cleveland Indians as an international free agent in 2013 and began his professional career in the minor leagues.

Chang made his MLB debut with the Indians in 2019 and remained with the team until 2022. He spent the 2022 season being traded among teams in the MLB and eventually ended the season with the Boston Red Sox.

Yu Chan caught the attention of the baseball world with his performance for Chinese Taipei in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. His grand slam hit against Italy when Chinese Taipei were 7-5 down in the bottom of the sixth turned the game around for his team. They eventually went on to win the game 7-11.

Chinese Taipei revitalized by Yu Chang performance

Hosts of Pool A of the WBC, Chinese Taipei, are having a great tournament following their opening game defeat to Panama. Led by Red Sox infielder Yu Chang, they have two wins under their belt. Chang has proved to be the catalyst to motivate his team to take their game to the next level. He will surely be turning the heads of several teams in the MLB.
