Trevor Bauer has been looking to return to Major League Baseball this season. The former National League Cy Young Award winner recently threw a bullpen in front of the Houston Astros that reportedly went well.
Afterward, Bauer posted a video on his Instagram story of himself grabbing an Astros hat. This sent the baseball community into a frenzy, believing that Houston had reached a deal with Bauer.

Things took a turn when FAX Sports, a sports parody account ran with the story. They bamboozled out the baseball community with a fake contract agreement between Bauer and the Astros.
According to league sources, no deal has been reached between the two sides. All that is known is that Houston watched Bauer throw a bullpen session last Friday, and that was all.
However, Houston needs some starting pitchers. The club just announced that starting pitcher Cristian Javier's 2024 season would be cut short after undergoing Tommy John surgery last week.
Could Trevor Bauer fit in with the Astros?

There is no denying that the Houston Astros need some help. They have been ravished by injuries, especially to their starting rotation, which has been hard on the club.
They could use another starting pitcher that they can depend on, and Trevor Bauer would not cost the team much. He has repeatedly told reporters that he would sign for the league minimum so that he could prove himself.
He has kept himself busy lately, spending a season with the Yokohama Dena BayStars in 2023, and currently pitches for Diablos Rojos del Mexico of the Mexican League.
While the club would likely get a ton of blowback from MLB fans, Bauer could certainly help turn things around. However, that is a risk the front office might not be willing to take.
