We are now past the halfway point of the fantasy baseball season, which means managers will need to have important conversations regarding their current roster. Depending on the league, managers should have a good sense of their team's strengths and weaknesses, as well as which players they should target or move on from.
Risers and fallers worth keeping an eye on in fantasy baseball

Max Scherzer
One of the best pitchers of his generation, Max Scherzer, has successfully returned to the Texas Rangers rotation sooner than expected.
While there have been questions surrounding his durability and how many innings he might throw per outing, Scherzer has been impressive since returning from the IL.

Through 16.2 innings this season, Max Scherzer has posted a 1-2 record with a solid 2.70 ERA and 0.84 WHIP.
Aside from health, Scherzer's strikeouts have been shockingly low, racking up only 11. Nevertheless, fantasy baseball managers should target the future Hall of Famer while they still can.
Anthony Volpe
The New York Yankees have been in a major slump lately. One of the players who have struggled during the current cold stretch has been promising young shortstop Anthony Volpe. The "next Derek Jeter" has struggled recently, going 1-for-23 in his last five games, dropping his season-long average to .253.
Anthony Volpe will still be a contributor for fantasy baseball managers in the stolen base category, but the rest of his numbers leave something to be desired. Managers could look to move Volpe, but his stock is trending in the wrong direction, so the value may not be high.
Cristopher Sanchez
The Philadelphia Phillies have enjoyed a surprisingly strong season from pitcher Cristopher Sanchez.
The 27-year-old is coming off a disastrous outing against the Chicago Cubs, giving up seven runs over 4.0 innings, leaving some managers questioning what they should do with him.

Hold! Fantasy baseball managers shouldn't overreact to the poor outing given the number of injuries to starters across the MLB. Sanchez could also be an intriguing trade target for managers. If his owner is panicking, he could be a player worth targeting.
Carlos Rodon
Another pitcher who has been struggling recently is New York Yankees veteran Carlos Rodon.
It has been a brutal stretch for Rodon, as the starter has surrendered 23 runs in his last 4 games. Even though Rodon pitches for one of the top teams in baseball, fantasy baseball managers may need to consider moving on from the pitcher if things don't improve.
