Giancarlo Stanton is an American baseball designated hitter for the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball (MLB). He attended Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga for two years before transferring to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, where he was a three-sport athlete, excelling in baseball, basketball, and football. In the 2007 MLB Draft, the Florida Marlins selected Giancarlo Stanton in the second round with the 76th overall pick. He began his professional career in the minor leagues before making his MLB debut on June 8, 2010, for the Marlins. He played with the team until 2017 before joining the New York Yankees in 2018.

A five-time MLB All-Star, Stanton has also won the Silver Slugger Award and the NL Hank Aaron Award twice, as of March 2025. He has led the National League (NL) in home runs twice and was the NL RBI leader in 2017, the same year he was named the NL Most Valuable Player (MVP).
