Gleyber Torres is a pro-level baseball player with a Venezuelan nationality. Known by the full name Gleyber David Torres Castro, he was born on December 13, 1996, in Caracas, Venezuela, Torres plays as a second baseman for the New York Yankees in the MLB as of October 2024. The 27-year-old made his Major League Baseball debut on April 22, 2018, and was named an All-Star player in his debut year and the following year.

At four years old, Torres started playing baseball in several positions, including pitcher, and catcher, before becoming a shortstop. Omar Vizquel is his favorite player and Torres developed a deeper passion for the sport by watching different ball games on TV. In 2013, Torres marked his first-ever professional agreement with the MLB side Chicago Cubs as an international free and got a signing bonus of $1.7 million.

As per Last. fm, the 2004 released song is one of the top 10 popular songs of the Venezuelan band Tambor Urbano. Torres chooses a song from one of the best Afro-Venezuelan artists as his walk-up song. According to the Bleacher Brawl, the song turned up the energy levels at the stadium and also energized Torres to perform.
