Soto was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies on January 7, 2023, alongside Kody Clemens in exchange for outfielder Matt Vierling, infielder Nick Maton, and catcher Donny Sands. He agreed to a one-year, $3.925 million contract with the Phillies, avoiding salary arbitration on January 13, 2023.
