After the Houston Astros completed their 2022 World Series victory by overcoming the Philadelphia Phillies with a series score of 4-2, the team wanted to do something special to commemorate the victory.
Following the culmination of the World Series, the team contracted Jostens, a Minnesota-based manufacturer of sports memoribilia, to design a special ring for players and coaches of the championship team.
Chris Poitras, the GM and Senior Vice President of Jostens Professional Sports offered his thoughts on the custom-made rings to commemorate the Astros' second championship in six seasons.
"“Jostens is proud to once again be celebrating this team with a one-of-a-kind ring that tells the story of their season. This ring is filled with details that bring the Astros championship journey to life and Jostens is honored to be the trusted partner of the 2022 World Series Champions.” - Chris Poitras, Jostens
Ahead of the Houston Astros' March 31 opening day matchup against the Chicago White Sox at Minute Maid Park, the rings were unveiled as they were presented to the team.
Additionally, the Astros have offered a selection of Official World Series jewelry to fans. The most prized item is the Limited Edition Houston Astros World Series Champions ring.

The ring features the iconic Houston "H" cut from orange sapphires and eleven baguette diamonds, signifying their five divisional titles, four AL Pennants and a pair of World Series wins to make eleven.
Additionally, the $15,117 ring is coated with 17 rounds diamonds - one to signify each strikeout attained by Astros staff in their World Series win over the Philadelphia Phillies. There are also 71 diamonds around the logo, signifying the team's 117 regular season and playoff wins in 2022.

The Houston Astros could have another ring in 2023
The team's 6-3 win over the White Sox on opening day came as no surprise. Despite losing some top names like Justin Verlander, the Astros are still a top contender to go the distance again in 2023. For next year's ring, fans can probably expect to shell out an ever higher sum of money for the hardware to be theirs.
