In February 2019, Houston Astros star Alex Bregman boldly declared his ambitions to match LeBron James' superstardom to draw a new generation of fans to MLB.
MLB lacks global superstars and finds it difficult to compete with other big American sports like the NBA and NFL. While the NFL and NBA can boast follower bases that stretch far beyond the Americas, MLB is very much rooted in its own continent.
Apparently, Bregman noticed the loophole quite early and jumped on the bandwagon to increase his social media (Instagram/Facebook/ Twitter/ YouTube) footprint on behalf of the league.
"I want to be the LeBron James of baseball," Bregman procaimed boldly.
"All in." - Alex Bregman
Currently, Lakers legend LeBron James enjoys a following of 147M on Instagram, which also enables him to earn per sponsored Instagram post.
Apart from a handful of MLB superstars like Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez, the league didn't produce any mainstream celebrities. Nevertheless, the 28-year-old third baseman and shortstop wants to fix the gap and connect with Gen-Z fans.

Further, Bregman aspires to lead in championship quality and push Breggy Bomb to new heights.
