Ian Happ has been a bright spot for a Chicago Cubs team that holds the third-worst record in the National League. Through 81 games, the two-time Gold Glove Award winner has hit .227/.343/.416 with 11 home runs and 44 runs batted in.
With the team slumping, there is thought that the Cubbies will be sellers at the trade deadline. If so, Happ could be one of the players the team looks to get rid of as he would have a decent market with teams looking for outfield help.

3 potential landing spots for Cubs' slugger Ian Happ
#3 - San Francisco Giants
The San Francisco Giants are expected to be buyers at the trade deadline. One area of need for them is another outfield bat after Jung Hoo Lee was shut down following shoulder surgery earlier in the year.
The injury to Lee has really hurt this club, as they sit 11 games behind the division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers. While there have been no ties between the two sides, it would be a disservice for the club not to check in on Happ.
#2 - New York Yankees
Things have not gone well for the New York Yankees as of late. They just got swept by the Cincinnati Reds at home and recently lost their lead in the American League East.
They are expected to be buyers at the deadline, and while their outfield is loaded, Ian Happ could play a pivotal role. He would add much-needed depth and could sneak into the starting lineup at times. He has also played third base during his career, an area the Yanks have struggled with.
#1 - Philadelphia Phillies
The Philadelphia Phillies hold firm control in the NL East but could use some help in the outfield. They are short-handed at the position, and many insiders and analysts expect them to aggressively pursue an outfielder.
Ian Happ could help fill the team's void both offensively and defensively. He would be a perfect fit and could help the team continue to impress during the second half of the season.
However, he is not the only outfielder seemingly on the move with the trade deadline approaching. His teammate Cody Bellinger and White Sox slugger Luis Robert Jr. are also expected to be traded.
Expect teams to start getting more aggressive over the next few weeks as time is starting to run out for these front offices.
