New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor was accompanied by his wife Katia for their trip to London to play a two-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies last weekend. Outside the baseball diamond, Lindor and his wife used this opportunity to explore the iconic Wimbledon court, which plays host to one of the four major titles Tennis has in its calendar year.
Katia shared glimpses from their visit to the iconic grass court on her social media. Lindor was in all-whites like a tennis player and was carrying his daughter, Amapola. Katia wore a red-white dress. The duo clicked photos from the Wimbledon stands, on the court, at the gallery and at the entry of the arena.
"POV: you’re exploring the stunning grounds of Wimbledon, yet nothing compares to the sight of your man 😜," Katia wrote in her caption.
Francisco Lindor and Katia tied the knot in December 2021. The duo shares two daughters: Kalina Zoe (born in Nov. 2020) and Amapola Chloé (born in June 2023).
Francisco Lindor and the Mets level London series with a nail-biting victory
The first game of the London Series was won by the Phillies 7-2. In that game, Francisco Lindor went 2-4, including one walk and two runs scored.
However, the Mets came back to level with a clutch 6-5 victory. The Mets, who were trailing 4-3 entering the ninth, forged a three-run inning to lead the game 6-4. The Phillies did score a run in the bottom half of the inning, but Jose Ruiz was called from the pen to get the final out, earning himself a save.
Before the last game of the series, Francisco Lindor expressed his dissatisfaction with the scheduling.
“I feel like we had too much time off,” Lindor said [via Yahoo Sports]. “I get it, there’s a process of you’ve got to sell the games and stuff like that. But to me ... playing the next day (Friday) would have been a little bit more beneficial.”
The London Series was highly successful, with crowds coming up in huge numbers. Another series is planned for 2026.
