In Photos: Ronald Acuna Jr.'s wife Maria Laborde steals the spotlight in black tennis mini skirt on lat muscle workout day

For Ronald Acuna Jr. and his wife Maria, the 2024-2025 offseason seems to have a theme of personal improvement. Recently, the other half of the 2023 NL MVP took to social media to show off her regime.

In a recent succession of pictures posted on her Instagram account, Maria Laborde showed off her black tennis mini skirt outfit as she hit the gym. Apparently working on her back muscles, Maria also shared a sun-kissed post-workout picture of herself.

A former Beauty Queen, Maria gained attention for winning Miss Teen 2015 in her home state of Carabobo, Venezuela. This paved the way for her to compete in the national competition, and branch out in terms of modelling opportunities. To date, Maria has modelled for Forever21, Zara, H&M, and boasts over 120,000 Instagram followers.

For her husband, Ronald Acuna Jr., physical training is a part of the offseason agenda as well. In May, Acuna Jr. tore his ACL running the bases against the Pittsburgh Pirates. His second such injury since 2021, Acuna has spoken in the past about physical rehab in speeding up his return to the field.

Since meeting in 2019, Ronald Acuna Jr. and Maria tied the knot in September 1, 2023, the same day that Acuna hit a grand slam against the LA Dodgers. The pair also have two sons; Ronald, born in 2021, and Jamal, born in 2023.

Ronald Acuna Jr. wants to return to MLB more effective than ever

In 2023, Acuna's 41 home runs and 73 stolen bases made the Atlanta Braves star the founding member of the 40/70 club. Now, as he works to return in time for opening day, Acuna made it clear to fans where his focus is:

"I'm really gonna try and focus on my hitting, my fielding, anything I can to help the team win. In regards to running and stealing those bases, I don't know if I'll be able to steal 40 or 50 as easily. I don't know how that's going to play out in the future."

However, by employing the same recovery techniques that he did in 2021, Acuna should be back soon. If all else fails, Maria appears to have some pointers of her own to offer.
