On the weekend of the World Series, a wild claim that Aaron Judge is being investigated by the MLB for potential PED usage went viral across social media. According to the online report, the MLB received an anonymous tip that Judge was using PEDs and that they are conducting an investigation into the matter.
The claim was made by a journalist named Rob Reinhart, whose account says that he had previously worked for Sports Illustrated and Bleacher Report and is now working for The New York World Herald.
Despite Aaron Judge's failing to make a meaningful impact in the World Series so far, Reinhart claims that an anonymous tip has led to an MLB investigation on the use of PEDs.
According to the claim, Judge is set to undergo a drug test ahead of Game 3 on Monday night. However, another Twitter (X) user, Ben Porter, rubbished the claim, creating some doubt on its legitimacy.
Finally, the claim regarding Judge's PED usage was debunked by Front Office Sports senior reporter A.J. Perez.
Having previously worked with FOX Sports and CBS Sports, Perez said that the claims against Judge are totally false. He added that the man behind the claim, Rob Reinhart, has never worked with Sports Illustrated or Bleacher Report as claimed on his profile.
Yankees captain Aaron Judge says he needs to step up his game in New York
With the Los Angeles Dodgers with a commanding 2-0 lead over the New York Yankees in the World Series, the two teams head to the Bronx for the next three games.
It's now do or die for Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees. Despite carrying the team on multiple occasions over the last few years, Judge's first World Series has been a disappointing one so far. Speaking to the media after Game 2, he said:
“I definitely gotta step up. ... Guys around me are doing their job, getting on base. And I’m failing them, not backing them up.”
Judge has had nine at-bats in the first two games of the series and has managed only one hit while being struck out six times. His average in the World Series is .111, a far cry from his .322 average in the regular season this year.
