Manny Machado has been playing for the San Diego Padres since 2019. His previous contract included an opt-out clause after the 2023 season. Nonetheless, he signed a new contract with San Diego. The Padres finalized an 11-year extension worth $350 million with the player. The contract will be applicable till the 2033 season.

The article includes a full no-trade and no opt-out on the part of Machado. He still had six years and $180 million left on his current deal. But the new contract enables the San Diego Padres to keep him for even longer and build the team around him.
