Presently, a part of the Southern Miss Golden Eagles baseball team, JB Middleton hails from Yazoo City, Mississippi, and is in his sophomore year with the University of Southern Mississippi. He serves as a right-handed-pitcher and can clock speeds of 90 mph through his fastballs. During his freshamn season, he threw in eight games (including one start) and posted an 0-3 record while maintaining an ERA of 8.68. Moreover, he made his debut against the Liberty Flames before sustaining an injury which kept him out for much of the season. Remarkably, Middleton also displayed his skills in the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) with the Hyannis HarborHawks in the summer of 2023. During his stint with the HarborHawks, he posted a 1-0 record while appearing in six games and having 8 1/3 innings of work.
Middlton was part of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in fall 2023 and in fall 2022 respectively. Prior to University, he attended Benton Academy where he was a MAIS Class 3A All-State selection during his senior year and played 12 games where he had an ERA of 1.37 while fanning out 91 batters in his final season.
