Joseph Whitman is an American left-handed pitcher in baseball. He is currently playing collegiate baseball for Kent University, in Ohio.

Joe Whitman was born on September 17, 2001, in Akron, Ohio. He attended Hudson High School. Then he attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, before transferring to Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. While he was at Purdue University, he pitched 5 ⅔ innings over two seasons. For Kent State, he notched up an ERA of 2.56 with 100 strikeouts and allowed 29 walks in 81 innings. He has been developing talent at Kent State University.

Joe Whitman is known for his fastball that moves at 91-94 mph and a low -80’s slider which covers both horizontal and vertical action. Additionally, he performs and maintains consistency throughout his pitching which can be a big disappointment to the opponent batters. Joe Whitman has also received a lot of attention from the scouts before the 2023 MLB Draft because of his left-handed pitching skills.

He is currently ranked as No. 37 in the upcoming 2023 MLB Draft in July 2023. It is expected that his pitching skills will surely get him selected in the MLB Draft.
