Jorge Mateo is a professional baseball player competing for the Baltimore Orioles in Major League Baseball (MLB). He joined the Orioles in 2021 after playing for the San Diego Padres from 2020 to 2021. Mateo was signed as an international free agent by the New York Yankees in January 2012, receiving a signing bonus of $250,000. He made his professional debut that same year with the Dominican Summer League Yankees 2 and subsequently played for the Dominican Summer League Yankees 1 in 2013. Mateo continued to play in the minor leagues until 2020.
