
Jorge Soler is a Cuban professional baseball outfielder and designated hitter for the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on February 25, 1992, in Havana, Cuba, Jorge Soler played for the Cuban national baseball team in the 2010 World Junior Baseball Championship. He also had a stint with the Industriales in the Cuban National Series. After moving away from Cuba in 2011, Soler signed a nine-year contract with the Chicago Cubs on June 11, 2012. He made his MLB debut on August 27, 2014, and was part of the Cubs' 2016 World Series-winning team.
Following the 2016 season, Soler was traded to the Kansas City Royals, where he played until 2021. Midway through the 2021 season, he was traded to the Atlanta Braves, where he contributed to their World Series victory and earned the World Series MVP award for the 2021 championship. In March 2022, Soler signed a three-year contract with the Miami Marlins. After opting out of his contract, he became a free agent and signed a three-year deal with the San Francisco Giants in February 2024. During the 2024 season, Soler was traded back to the Atlanta Braves on July 29. Later that year, on October 31, the Braves traded him to the Los Angeles Angels.
