Juan Soto is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder playing for the New York Mets in Major League Baseball (as of Jan 2025). Born on October 25, 1998, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Soto made his MLB debut with the Washington Nationals on May 20, 2018. Soto helped the Nationals secure their first-ever World Series title in 2019.

After four seasons with the Nationals, Juan Soto was traded to the San Diego Padres in August 2022 and played for the team until the 2023 season. In 2024, Juan Soto played for the New York Yankees, before being traded to the New York Mets on December 11, 2024. As of the 2024 MLB season, Juan Soto has earned four consecutive All-Star selections from 2021 to 2024 and has been honored with the Silver Slugger Award five times, from 2020 to 2024. Soto's performance also earned him a spot on the All-MLB First Team three times, in 2020, 2021, and 2024. Additionally, he claimed the National League (NL) batting champion title in 2020.

Juan Soto had 12 injuries as of January 2025, as reported by Fox Sports. His last injury of the 2024 MLB season occurred on June 29, 2024, in a game against the Toronto Blue Jays, when the Yankees announced minutes before the first pitch that Soto had been removed from the lineup due to a bruise on his right hand. During the game, Soto underwent an X-ray at Rogers Centre, which came back negative, as reported by The New York Times. The injury occurred on 28 June 2024, when Soto awkwardly landed on his right hand while attempting to avoid a play at first base. He was in discomfort in the dugout following the incident.

Juan Soto has had several injuries throughout his career, including issues with his hand, forearm, back, calf, knee, hamstring, shoulder, elbow, and leg.

Back Injury

Based on Fox Sports, Juan Soto suffered a back injury in the MLB while playing for the Nationals in May 2019. He was put on the injury list by the team for 10 days due to the back spasm. He faced a back issue for a couple of days and the team decided to remove him from the lineup (as per MLB.com).

Leg Injury

In August 2019, Juan Soto suffered a mild right ankle sprain during a game against the New York Mets. According to MLB, Soto got injured while running the bases in the top of the seventh inning.

Elbow Injury

As per MLB, on September 4, 2020, Juan Soto experienced elbow stiffness when he woke up, although the discomfort was not attributed to a specific moment in a game. Due to the stiffness, Soto was scratched from the lineup for both Game 1 and Game 2 of the series. The injury was monitored, and Soto was listed as day-to-day as he rested to prevent further issues with his elbow.

Shoulder Injury

As per Fox Sports, Soto faced a shoulder injury during the 2021 season, following the COVID-19 pandemic. He was put on the injury list for 10 days due to a strain on the left shoulder, based on MLB.com.

Hamstring Injury

According to the Washington Post, Soto had a hamstring injury in 2021. His right calf cramped during a match against the Miami Marlins and he was subbed off.

Knee Injury

Based on Fox Sports, Juan Soto faced a knee injury in the 2021 season. His knee was hurt during a match against the Philadelphia Phillies while running the bases, as per the Washington Post. He was later rested to recover his knee.

Calf Injury

Based on Fox Sports, Soto faced a left calf strain in 2022. He had an MRI of his leg after the match, which he exited due to calf tightness in the fourth inning, according to the New York Post.

Back Injury

Juan Soto dealt with multiple back injuries throughout his career, including incidents on August 23, 2022, September 7, 2022, and May 28, 2023. On August 23, 2022, Soto was scratched from the lineup on August 23, 2022, due to left mid-back tightness after his back issue flared up while swinging in the batting cage before the first pitch, as per MLB. Later, on September 7, 2022, he faced another back issue, and again on May 28, 2023, Soto was scratched from the lineup with back tightness.

Forearm Injury

According to MLB. com, Soto faced a forearm injury in June 2024. He missed the series against the Dodgers following the injury. MRI reports showed an inflammation, but there was no structural damage.

Hand Injury

According to MLB.com, Soto had a hand injury on June 29, 2024. He had multiple X-rays due to the swelling in his right hand and was kept out of the lineup just 20 minutes before the game. The reports were negative. However, Soto underwent a medical treatment.
