Kansas City Royals

The Kansas City Royals are a professional baseball team based in Kansas City, Missouri. They were established in 1969 as part of Major League Baseball's expansion. The Royals compete in the American League Central Division and play their home games at the iconic Kauffman Stadium. The team's colors are royal blue, white, and gold, and their mascot is a lion named Slugger.

The name "Royals" is a tribute to the American Royal, an annual livestock show, horse show, rodeo, and championship barbecue competition held in Kansas City since 1899. It also pays homage to two former Negro League baseball teams that had the same name in the first half of the 20th century. Since their inception, the Kansas City Royals have won two World Series championships. The first championship came in 1985, and the second in 2015. In 2015, they also won their first AL Central division title and defeated the New York Mets in five games to secure their second World Series championship.
