Kyle Teel, Born on February 15, 2002, is recognized as a college baseball catcher for the Virginia Cavaliers and is an upcoming prospect for the 2023’s MLB Draft. Having featured in the 2020’s MLB Draft but left unselected, Kyle went through a notable transition. He is named to the First Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and voted as Coast Conference Player of the Year, UVA’s first since 2006 (Sean Doolittle).

In 2022, He started 58 games as a catcher and received the second-most stars in a season at the position ever in history (64, Justin Counts in the year 1996). Additionally, Kyle got named to the Greenville All-Regional Team after batting with an average of .364 with two doubles and two RBIs in 11 hits.

Kyle is the first UVA freshman to receive First Team All-American, First Team Baseball America, and Second Team Perfect Game honors in 2021 from D1baseball, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, and Perfect Game, respectively, since Danny Hultzen in 2009 who earned First Team accolades from Baseball America. During Kyle’s sophomore season in 2022, he primarily played as a catcher and has batted an average of .276/.402/.439, scoring 12 doubles, six home runs, and 45 RBIs in 221 at-bats. After the season ended, Kyle was selected to play with the United States Collegiate National Team. And as of 2023, On May 22, Kyle was named 2023’s ACC Player of the Year.
