Lance Lynn has continued to defy father time, pitching at an effective level late into his MLB career. The 37-year-old has continued to prove that he is a quality starter in the Majors and has reportedly dropped weight this offseason in order to keep his career rolling.

Despite being one of the oldest starting pitchers in the Majors, Lynn is coming off yet another solid season in 2024. Last year with the St. Louis Cardinals, the two-time All-Star posted a 7-4 record with a 3.84 ERA and 109 strikeouts over 1117.1 innings of work. While his best years might be behind him, he has proven that he is still worthy of a spot in a MLB rotation.

Given the fact that clubs across the league are looking to bolster their rotations before the beginning of 2025, the journeyman pitcher should be able to secure a contract sooner rather than later.

Here's a closer look at three potential landing spots for Lance Lynn

#1 - Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles are one of the top teams in the American League. However, they are not without their faults. One area that needs to be addressed before the 2025 campaign is their pitching rotation. Lynn may no longer be considered an ace, but he could be a steadying force for the O's in the middle-to-back of the rotation.

The Orioles have a number of talented and promising pitchers in their system. However, many of the younger arms remain unproven or inconsistent. Bringing in Lynn, even on a one-year deal, could help them in the immediate future while also allowing the young pitchers to learn from the All-Star.

#2 - Kansas City Royals

Another top contender in the American League that could benefit from a veteran like Lynn is the Kansas City Royals. The emergence of Cole Ragans and Seth Lugo as bona fide stars has been a significant boost to the club. However, there are still question marks about the back of the rotation. The team did bring in Michael Wacha and also have Kyle Wright, but Lynn could be a perfect fit to round it out.

#3 - Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates find themselves in an interesting spot. After rebuilding for several seasons, they now have one of the best pitchers in baseball, Paul Skenes. Given Skenes' rise to the All-Star level in his rookie campaign, the Pirates would be best advised not to waste time in building a contender. Bringing in a veteran presence like Lance Lynn could be one of those ways to do it.
