The MLB World Series is the final stage of the season in Major League Baseball (MLB). This is the stage where the last two teams of the league battle it out for the ultimate prize, the MLB championship. The last remaining team becomes the World Series Champion for the season.
The modern version of the World Series has been in existence since 1903 and will be seeing its 120th edition as of 2024. The New York Yankees are the team that is notorious for having the World Series the most times in the league. They are closely followed behind by the St. Louis Cardinals, the Boston Red Sox, the Oakland Athletics, the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Notably, in the 2023 MLB season, a brand new team became the World Series Champion for the first time in the form of the Texas Rangers. The race has started in the league towards the crowning of a new World Series Champion for the 2024 MLB season.
