Born on December 12, 1992, Luis Castillo is a Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher from the Dominican Republic who currently plays for the Seattle Mariners. In December 2011, Castillo signed a contract as an international free agent with the San Francisco Giants. He made his professional debut in the Dominican Summer League with the DSL Giants in 2012. He was traded to the Miami Marlins in 2014. After a few years with them he was again traded, this time to the Cincinnati Reds.

Castillo made his Major League Baseball debut on June 23, 2017, against the Washington Nationals. However, he was again traded, this time to the Seattle Mariners in July 2022. He has given strong performances with every team that he has represented in his career till now. He also has three All-Star game appearances to his name.
