It was a bit of a down season for Manuel Margot with the Minnesota Twins in 2024. Normally, Margot is a steady on-base contributor at the MLB level; however, the veteran outfielder struggled to get things rolling. Nevertheless, even though he posted a .238 batting average with only four home runs and 31 RBIs, he should have no issue securing a new contract in free agency.

The 30-year-old has historically been a solid contributor in both stolen bases and hits, and while he may not be known as a slugger, he has hit double-digit home runs three times in his career. Margot's ability to play all over the outfield should also help him boost his value among prospective suitors.

Although Margot may need to settle on a one-year deal, or at least a contract laden with options, he should have several clubs interested in his services heading into the new year. While the outfield free-agent market might be stalled by the Juan Soto negotiations, once he signs, the floodgates should open for outfielders looking for new deals.

Here's a look at 3 potential landing spots for Manuel Margot in free agency

#1, The Athletics

It's a new era for the Athletics. Not only have they moved out of Oakland, but the club has already made a significant and surprising offseason move. On Thursday, the A's signed Luis Severino to a team-record, three-year, $67 million deal, splashing cash like never before.

Although Manuel Margot is not likely going to command a massive contract, the fact that the team is willing to spend could open the door for the outfielder. Plus, the team could look to use Margot as a trading chip if it finds itself out of playoff contention near the deadline.

#2, Cleveland Guardians

The Cleveland Guardians are reportedly exploring the outfield market, which could include Margot. The Guardians are not a club to historically splash cash in free agency, so adding an affordable depth piece could be right up the team's alley.

Although Manuel Margot is not without his faults, if he can bounce back to the on-base star he has been throughout his career, he could be a cost-friendly addition to a solid Cleveland lineup.

#3, Los Angeles Angels

The Los Angeles Angels have been one of the most active teams this offseason, adding a number of veteran pieces all over the field as they look to revamp their roster. Enter Manuel Margot, who could bring additional veteran depth to an outfield core that could be without Mike Trout moving forward.

The future Hall of Famer is reportedly open to moving out of center field in an attempt to keep him healthy. This will mean that the Angels will need to adjust their lineup. Like the Athletics, Margot could be both a low-cost add, as well as a trade chip. For a team like Los Angeles, it is a low-risk, mid-reward signing that just makes sense.
