Marcus Allen Phillips is a newcomer sophomore to the Tennessee Volunteers baseball team. He played his freshman year for the Iowa Western Reivers in 2023. However, he did not get to play much in his freshman season.

That being said, throughout the 2023 season with the Iowa Western Reivers, Phillips played only 4 games, in which he pitched 12.1 innings, secured 11 strikeouts and had an ERA of 5.11. He also achieved a win-loss record of 2-0. Nonetheless, he transferred himself to Tennessee in the 2023 off-season.

Despite not playing for much of the season, he was notable for pitching 2.0 innings, considered to be his season high, while striking out three opponent batters, thereby leading his team to a sweeping victory on March 3, 2023 against Bowling Green Falcons.

Marcus Phillips transferred to the Tennessee Volunteers, thereby debuting in the NCAA Division I college baseball program for the 2024 season. This year, he was notable for striking out three batters from the Bowling Green Falcons and pitching two scoreless relief innings, leading his team to victory on March 3, 2024. He also achieved the first save in his career in a win against the Illinois Fighting Illini on March 8, 2024.
