He attended Franklin Community High School in Franklin, Indiana, where he played as an outfielder and pitcher on their team. He most recently culminated his senior year batting .646 with six home runs, 33 RBIs, and 45 runs scored, while also being named the Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year.
