Team Japan's pitchers continue to impress, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto the latest starter to record a win at the 2023 World Baseball Classic. The 24-year-old from Okayama was magnificent against Team Australia. His performance helped guide Japan to a dominant 7-1 victory.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto may not be as well-known as some of his colleagues who play in the United States, but he is highly respected in Japan. He spent the last six seasons with the Orix Buffaloes and has developed into one of the Nippon Professional Baseball League's most dominant pitchers.

Baseball fans got a chance to see the righty in action on the world stage on Sunday. In front of a packed house at the Tokyo Dome, Yamamoto put on a masterclass. MLB scouts were likely drooling at the idea of adding a player like Yamamoto to their roster.

WBC fans took to Twitter after an impressive outing from the rising star.

MLB fans were stunned by Yamamoto's arsenal and his ability to control the game. One fan even stated that if Yamamoto decides to come to MLB, it is only a matter of time before he wins the Cy Young Award.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto finished with eight strikeouts in four innings and allowed just one hit on the night. It took him just 60 pitches to work his way through four innings.

Led by strong pitching and a potent offense, Japan have now won all four of their games.

Shohei Ohtani won his matchup versus Team China. Yu Darvish had a solid outing against Team Korea. Roki Sasaki was phenomenal versus the Czech Republic.

Japan has one of the best starting rotations in the World Baseball Classic. The four starters are stars and if they continue to perform at this level, it is hard to see Japan losing a game.

The New York Yankees, New York Mets and Texas Rangers have all shelled out big money for starting pitching during the offseason. Justin Verlander closed a contract worth more than $40 mill per year. Jacob deGrom signed a five-year, 185 million deal.

MLB scouts might be wise to look to Japan for quality starting pitchers.
