The Atlanta Braves will enter the 2024 season as one of the favorites to not only reach the World Series but win the whole thing. Thanks to their potent offense and elite pitching rotation, a majority of Atlanta's roster will also see themselves greatly valued in 2024 fantasy baseball drafts.
The Atlanta Braves have a number of fantasy baseball superstars, including reigning National League MVP Ronald Acuna Jr., who enters the new season as the likely first overall pick in many drafts. Spencer Strider and Matt Olson are two more players on the roster who will likely see their names called early in 2024 fantasy baseball drafts.
The key to a successful fantasy baseball campaign, the finding hidden gems on talented teams such as the Atlanta Braves. Ronald Acuna Jr., Matt Olson, and Spencer Strider will all likely continue as fantasy superstars but they come with an expensive price tag. The key is to find the talent that it available later in drafts.
Here's a look at three Atlanta Braves players to target in 2024 fantasy baseball drafts
#1- Ozzie Albies
This one may have been an obvious choice, but Ozzie Albies has emerged as one of the best second basemen in the MLB. The 27-year-old is coming off arguably the best season of his career, which makes his prospects in 2024 so exciting.
Last year, Ozzie Albies earned his third All-Star selection thanks to an incredible season that saw him post a .280 batting average with 33 home runs, 109 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases. He will likely go in the first few rounds of drafts, however, if he can remain healthy, he could finish the year as the top second baseman in fantasy baseball.
#2 - Chris Sale
This one may be less obvious compared to Ozzie Albies, but Chris Sale has the track record and experience to reward fantasy owners who take a chance on him in their drafts. The Atlanta Braves acquired the veteran in a deal that saw Vaughn Grissom move to the Boston Red Sox.
Although the seven-time All-Star may no longer be in his prime, Chris Sale has proven that he can still be effective in the MLB. His injury track record will likely lower his draft stock, but it is worth mentioning that Sale pitched over 100 innings last year for the first time since 2019. He could be a bargain late in fantasy drafts for managers.
#3 - Marcell Ozuna
Marcell Ozuna may be one of the most polarizing players not only in the MLB but in fantasy baseball as well. That being said, fantasy baseball managers may need to overlook his questionable decisions on and off the field if they want to cash in on his production.
Ozuna was tremendous for the Braves last season, posting a .274 batting average with 40 home runs and 100 RBIs. Keep an eye on how far he falls in drafts as he should be an elite source of home runs and RBIs again this season.
