As MLB teams continue to push toward the All-Star break, various clubs have received important injury updates regarding some of their stars. The baseball season is a grind as teams have to play at least 162 games (not including a potential postseason run).
As usual, there have been many players bothered by various ailments, with some closer to returning to the lineup than others. A variety of teams have received injury updates about some of their important players, including the Houston Astros and American League MVP candidate Kyle Tucker.
Some notable injury updates from across the MLB
Kyle Tucker
The Houston Astros have been anticipating the return of Kyle Tucker since he was placed on the 10-day IL with a right shin contusion.
The team had hoped that the superstar outfielder would be able to return to the lineup on Friday, but that doesn't appear to be the case. According to MLB insider Brian McTaggart, Tucker is yet to resume baseball activities.

Jurickson Profar
Jurickson Profar has been a surprise success for the San Diego Padres this season, but there's a chance that he could miss a few games for the club.
The veteran utilityman was forced out of Tuesday's game after suffering a sore left knee. This current injury update suggests that he may have avoided something more serious, as he's listed as day-to-day.
Taylor Ward
Following the departure of Shohei Ohtani in free agency and a devastating injury to Mike Trout, Taylor Ward has emerged as arguably the top player for the Los Angeles Angels this season.
Unfortunately for Ward, the outfielder was removed from Tuesday's action with lower back tightness. According to MLB insider Jeff Fletcher, the move was precautionary.
Jordan Hicks
Jordan Hicks has been a strong addition to the San Francisco Giants rotation this season.
On Tuesday, Hicks was limited to only 72 pitches, which some believed could have been for a more severe reason, but manager Bob Melvin gave an injury update on the pitcher. Hicks has been dealing with an illness, which is why he exited the matchup early.

Yainer Diaz
The Houston Astros are expected to receive a major boost to their lineup this week.
Manager Joe Espada said that catcher Yainer Diaz is nearly ready to return to the lineup, stating that he will be ready to go on Friday if the team requires him to play. Diaz's return could go a long way to the Astros getting back on track.
