The MLB is full of surprises as things become exciting when the playoffs get near. While several teams have started to make changes to their rosters this September, some have stuck to the same lineup. The New York Yankees are one of the top clubs that have altered their roster by sending a few players down to Triple-A.
Starting pitcher Will Warren's disastrous season continued, and the Yanks had no option but to demote him from the big leagues. Following Warren was first baseman Ben Rice. With veteran player Anthony Rizzo returning to the lineup, it made sense for the Yankees to replace Rice, especially since he has struggled to perform.
However, the most disappointing part for Yankee fans was the no-show of top-prospect Jasson Dominguez. The Yanks were heavily anticipated to call up the powerful hitter to their squad, but instead, they picked outfielder Duke Ellis. Several fans were disappointed with their decision as Ellis was picked over Dominguez.
Aaron Boone seems to have his reasons for keeping Dominguez out for a while. The good news is that the idea of his return is not entirely ruled out. The Yanks might be waiting for the right time to bring Dominguez to the lineup.
George Springer has high expectations for Blue Jays next MLB season
The 2024 MLB season has been a disaster for the Toronto Blue Jays, and things aren't improving. The Blue Jays are at the bottom of the AL East with their playoff dream shattered. The 2025 MLB season is not expected to get any better since a few players are predicted to be traded.
However, outfielder George Springer has the confidence and hopes for the team to have a better season next year. Springer believes the club will learn from its mistakes in 2024 and will hope to get a better start next season.
The Blue Jays slugger is not pleased with the present condition and progress of the team.
Phillies triumph over Braves in walk-off fashion
On the NL East end, one of the biggest rivals, the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves, played their last regular season series. The Phillies triumphed over their opponent 3-2 as they won their last game in walk-off fashion on Sunday.
Nick Castellanos was the bright spot for the team, who helped secure the win. Castellanos smashed a walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th inning against Grant Holmes. It was an important win for the team, as it remains at the top of its division.
