We are getting closer and closer to the end of MLB's regular season. With only a few weeks left, some teams have put themselves in a great position, while others have some work to do. Some of the top clubs have been at this position for much of the year, while others have started to get hot at just the right time.
Today, we predict who the top 10 teams in baseball are and where they could stand in week 24.
MLB Power Rankings Prediction - Week 24
10. Arizona Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks have started to falter a bit as of late but still have the talent to be a postseason club. They are currently third in the NL West, and while they likely will not catch the Los Angeles Dodgers, they are right on the San Diego Padres' tails.
9. Kansas City Royals
The Kansas City Royals have been one of MLB's surprise teams this season. They have been led by All-Star Bobby Witt Jr. who is having a remarkable season.
They have an important series against the Minnesota Twins that they must take advantage of. They are right in the mix with Minnesota in the American League Central.
8. Cleveland Guardians
While the Cleveland Guardians have not been a talking point this season, they have quietly led the AL Central. With recent losses by KC and Minnesota, Cleveland is looking great heading into October.
7. San Diego Padres
This team is starting to heat up at the right time. Manny Machado has looked good, and they just got Fernando Tatis Jr. back healthy. Watch out for them to get on a roll with their core back.
6. Houston Astros
While they started the season on the wrong foot, the Houston Astros have been able to get the ball rolling and turn this year around. The pitching rotation has finally slowed down with its injuries, and things are looking up in Houston.
5. Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers have ramped things up as we get closer to the end of the regular season. They hold a 10-game lead in the National League Central and do not have too hard of an upcoming schedule.
4. Baltimore Orioles
The Baltimore Orioles have some divisional opponents they need to get through this week and the next. It could be a make-or-break couple of series for the club, which sits atop the AL East at the moment.
3. Philadelphia Phillies
The Philadelphia Phillies have looked to be one of MLB's top teams all season long. They have two series against under .500 opponents that they should have no problem defeating.
2. New York Yankees
The New York Yankees are getting healthy at just the right time. Anthony Rizzo returned to the lineup last week, and pitchers Clarke Schmidt and Luis Gil are not far behind.
While they sit behind the Orioles at the moment, this boost could provide extra life to the team. The club knows what is on the line this year, especially with Juan Soto's future in the Bronx being a mystery.
1. Los Angeles Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers hold the best record in the MLB, and that will likely not change over the next week or so. They do not have the hardest schedule to close out the year, with two series against the Colorado Rockies upcoming.
They came into the season as the MLB favorites, and that has not changed. The talent surrounding their organization is incredible, even with the number of guys down on the IL with injuries.
