The MLB Trade deadline is right around the corner, and the Washington Nationals are expected to be sellers. They currently sit in fourth place in the National League East, 17.5 games out of first place.

#3 - Lane Thomas
Lane Thomas is an outfielder who could help many teams during the second half. Across 74 games, he has hit .247/.320/.396 with eight home runs and 39 runs batted in.
The Philadelphia Phillies have shown interest in the slugger. They are in desperate need of an outfielder However, he is better suited as a corner outfielder, and the Phils want to upgrade at center field.
#2 - Kyle Finnegan
Kyle Finnegan will be a name many teams consider adding for a second-half boost. He is an All-Star closer who has commanded a 2.32 ERA with 28 saves, the third-most across MLB.
The New York Yankees have shown interest in the reliever, and he could be a great fit. He would take a lot of pressure off of Clay Holmes in the bullpen.
#1 - Jesse Winker
Jesse Winker is likely to be on the move ahead of the deadline. The Nationals slugger would be a cheaper rental bat that could help some contending teams, like the Milwaukee Brewers.
Milwaukee just placed Christian Yelich on the 10-day IL with lower back inflammation, and he could be out for some time. Playing with the Brew Crew in 2023, it would be a familiar place for the veteran. He could help the club fight to stay in control of the NL Central.
