There are only a few hours remaining before the MLB trade deadline passes, however, teams remain active in improving their current rosters or building for the future. It's been an exciting week for baseball fans everywhere as a number of notable stars now find themselves in a different uniform for the remainder of the year.

The MLB trade deadline will take place at 6 p.m. EDT yet several teams have made sure not to wait until the last moment to get some deals done. Here's a look at some of the notable trades that have taken place on Tuesday before the deadline passes.

MLB Trade Deadline roundup for Tuesday, July 30

Alex Cobb brings his talent to Cleveland

The Cleveland Guardians have continued their trade deadline season by bringing in veteran pitcher Alex Cobb. The Guardians sent pitcher Jacob Bresnahan and a player to be named later to the San Francisco Giants for the 36-year-old Cobb. Even though Cobb has not pitched this season, he has continued to near a return from a prolonged minor league rehab assignment.

Caleb Ferguson heads to Houston

According to Jack Curry of the YES Network, the New York Yankees have sent veteran southpaw reliever Caleb Ferguson to the Houston Astros. In return, the Bronx Bombers received international signing bonus space, as well as a prospect. Although a seemingly minor deal, it could be a sign of another move to come for the Yankees before the trade deadline passes.

Lucas Erceg joins the Royals

The first of two trades made by the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday saw the club bring in veteran reliever Lucas Erceg from the Oakland Athletics. Although it is still unclear who the A's are receiving in return for Erceg, his acquisition is a solid one for the Royals who have been looking to bolster their bullpen for some time.

Andrew Chafin to the Rangers

The reigning World Series champion Texas Rangers have bolstered their bullpen by bringing in Andrew Chafin from the Detroit Tigers. Chafin should be another solid veteran option for the Rangers ahead of closer Kirby Yates. The new Rangers pitcher has been mentioned in trade rumors all season and will now bring his talent to Texas.

Paul DeJong to Kansas City

The second trade deadline day acquisition for the Kansas City Royals saw the club bring in veteran infielder Paul DeJong from the Chicago White Sox. MLB insider Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times has reported that prospect Jarold Rosado will be making his way to the White Sox as part of the deal.
