MLB Twitter reacts to Carlos Correa forgetting about the pitch clock mid-at-bat: "This isn't baseball" "Watching them rush is not very satisfying"

Carlos Correa made his spring training debut on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies, going 1-for-2 in a game that ended in a 4-4 tie.

During his first at-bat, Correa forgot about the pitch clock. He tried to take a moment after the pitch until the umpire kindly reminded him to get back in the box. He's not alone in struggling to adjust to the pitch clock. Batters and pitchers have had a tough time with the new rules so far in spring training.

One of the reasons the pitch clock was put in place was to limit batters taking too much time between pitches. No longer will fans see a batter rewrap their batting gloves four times in a row before stepping into the box.

Things will get better once the players get more adjusted to the rules. Until then, fans are going to see awkward moments like this when Carlos Correa needed to be reminded to step in the box.

"This isn't baseball," one fan tweeted.
"Watching them rush is not very satisfying," another fan tweeted.

A lot of fans don't enjoy the new pitch clock. They think it's too fast of a pace and it's changing the way the game is played.

Other fans are all for the pitch clock. They think it's great for the game.

Once everyone gets used to it, fans won't even notice it anymore.

Can Carlos Correa and the Minnesota Twins make it out of the American League Central?

The Minnesota Twins had an active offseason. After seeing Carlos Correa bounce from team to team, they were able to re-sign him. He was nearly the only player on the Twins last season who didn't spend significant time on the IL. He'll be one of the leaders in that clubhouse.

They also signed slugger Joey Gallo. While Gallo hasn't been at the top of his game for the last couple of seasons, a change in scenery may do him some good. He's also on a prove-it deal, and athletes tend to ball out during these years.

Minnesota has one of the most exciting players in Byron Buxton when he's healthy. While he's only played over 100 games once in his career, he's coming into this season relatively healthy. If he can stay on the field, he's going to put up big numbers.

The Twins have a roster to compete with the Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox this season. The AL Central may come down to the final game of the season.
