Markus Lynn Betts, also known as Mookie Betts has been an eleven-year veteran of Major League Baseball (MLB) as of 2024. Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, United States, the Boston Red Sox drafted him in the fifth round of the 2011 MLB Draft and he made his MLB team debut with the Boston Red Sox on June 29, 2014.

Mookie Betts is notable for being a two-time World Series title winner in his MLB career so far. Additionally, he is also an eight-time MLB All-Star player and has four AL All-Star awards and four NL All-Star awards to show for it. He has also won three NL Silver Slugger Awards, two Rawlings NL Gold Glove Awards, Home Run Derby Participant Award, NL Player of the Week Award and NL Player of the Month Award in his career. He also led the league in batting with a batting average of .346 in the 2018 MLB season.
